Getting enough protein at breakfast time can be tricky, especially with the daily rush to get to work or school. The temptation is to grab some toast, cereal or even go without.
If you can tolerate milk, this is a really easy smoothie that, if you prepare it before you go to bed, can be drunk in less time than it takes to make a slice of toast and will keep you full until lunch.
If you follow the Zone Diet prescription then the quantities below will make approx 5 blocks worth of smoothie, adjust the quantities to suit your requirements. If you don’t Zone, then perhaps start with half quantities and add more if you need it.
1 pint Frozen (or fresh) Summer Fruits (normally Strawberries, Raspberries, Blueberries & Red Currents)
1 Pint Whole Milk
1 Scoop of Protein Powder
1 ‘Good slug’ of Single Cream
Put all the ingredients in a blender and whiz until smooth.
You could also substitute olive or coconut oil instead of cream. If you used fresh fruit you could drink it straight away but with frozen fruit leave it in the fridge overnight to warm up. No-one likes driving to work with an ice cream headache.

Yummy yummy, in my tummy!
