Anyone new to CrossFit Tameside will need to complete either CrossFit Foundations or CrossFit Essentials before being able to move in to the group classes. If you feel you are versed in all aspects of CrossFit then you can test out.

CrossFit Foundations

CrossFit Foundations consists of 3 sessions over 1 week for a total of 3 hours. The class curriculum is carefully designed and instructed to prepare new clients for the more demanding CrossFit classes to come. These sessions consist of exercise instruction and practice, review, warm-up protocols, stretching protocols, and, of course, workouts and are instructed by a certified CrossFit coach.

The emphasis of the CrossFit Foundations is on skill development and exposure to our basic movements, as well as to familiarise you with the concepts and terminology used in CrossFit. The focus will be on technique throughout the programme (and it continues in the regular CrossFit classes) to ensure your safety and your success as you progress.

Groups are limited in size to ensure all clients receive plenty of personal attention. These classes are offered periodically; check our schedule for the next open class and to sign up.

CrossFit Essentials

If the timings of the CrossFit Foundations are inconvenient you can also get started with our new CrossFit Essentials. This 2-hour course covers the essential movements you will need in our group classes in a dedicated and safe environment. This allows us to individually assess clients to ensure safe and correct execution, consider any individual teaching requirements and restrictions, and allows a seamless introduction of new members into a class environment with minimal impact on existing members.

Group Classes

CrossFit uses group sessions to get the best out of every individual. The very nature of group activity pushes people harder than if training on their own. You will push yourself and each other harder than you thought possible.

CrossFit is a community and communities support each other. You will laugh together, cry together and grow together. CrossFit is not about being able to lift more or run faster than anyone else. It is about striving to be the best YOU can be and sharing your experience with others.

The group workouts consist of:

  • explanation of the workout
  • warm up
  • running through exercises to be performed
  • workout

Thanks to the scalability of CrossFit if you are new to either exercise or the movements being carried out we will scale your workout. Over time, as your technique and fitness improve you can then build up to the prescribed workouts.

PDR – Personal Defense Readiness

PDR is a self defence system that is instinctive and easy to learn. You won’t just learn to defend yourself but how to detect and defuse situations before they turn violent. Find out more, including details of our next classes, on the PDR Manchester website

Personal Training

We don’t have any personal training slots available at the moment. Drop us a line to register your interest and we will get in touch with you when a space becomes available. In the meantime, why not try our group classes which give you a similar level of personal attention and coaching at a fraction of the cost.
